By an accurate spreading of material, the artist builds a sculpture of a young boy standing flauntingly. Ruth is a religious woman, who does not want to sculpt an image of the human body. She wants to express growth, freshness, adolescence fragility, through the boy's image. The artist refers to characteristics of the period between childhood and adulthood. The image comes out of a stable body, grows tall and looks like it will continue to grow.
The artist spent his youth in England during World War II. Ruth Ellran is one of the “kinder transport” children, she was separated from her family and home in Germany and was sent to a foster family in England, where she grew up and from there she immigrated to Israel.
