| Michael Lazar, born in Canada, 1971 and Mark Lewis, born in England, 1966, have been working together since 1998. Their common interest is to develop a form and dialog of sculpture that has not been yet expressed or developed. The concept of working raw metals, as opposed to casting, fascinates both artists. It is due to the complexity, refusal to yield, the violence and the danger inherent in the process.
The resultant art is the product of a conversation between the two artists driven by an original idea. The idea is constantly modified by the forms that the metal itself chooses to take. The style is unique – metal is formed into a figurative sculpture. Everything is hand- made (without heat) and hence, each sculpture produced is a unique piece.
They have exhibited extensively in Europe, USA and Singapore. Their works can be found in many prominent international collections and outside public buildings all over Israel.
