| | | She was born in Colombia in 1952 and immigrated to Israel in 1979. Veronica came into the world of art after years of academic studies in Israel, Belgium and Colombia, where she studied Philosophy, Linguistics and French literature. Veronica worked first with crafting and jewelry design, but as time went by she felt the need to create in large scales, although without giving up her love for metal. She studied iron sculpture at the Artist Workshops of Tel Aviv Museum, with sculptor Eliezer (Gogo) Rosen. Since then, she divides her time between her studio in Tel Aviv, where she hostess other sculptors and also teaches Iron Sculpture, and her studio for Crafting and Jewelry Design, located in Herzliya.
Veronica Ellran has her own language. Nature is her source of inspiration. By observing nature, she cannot help but admire the wonderful textures that create the shapes and bodies. Texture and shape complement one another. Rods with different diameters are used as raw material for her work. They are the arteries through which shape is built. Thus, the images get plastic shapes that can not only be observed, but they can also and mainly, be touched.
Veronica participated in numerous group exhibitions, among them:
2006 - "Heal Me Now" Artist House in the name of Yosef Zaritsky, Tel Aviv
2006 - Art of Israel 5, Reading Compound, Tel Aviv
2008 - "Carmel", Clandestine Immigration and Navy Museum, Haifa

60 cm / 47 cm
Mixed media: iron and fabric
Electric welding of iron rods and pipes of different diameters. Due to the welding the iron receives a fascinating texture. Gluing and sewing.
What is a drop of blood? Is it a shape or a liquid? Can you touch the drop? Jordan Regal, a blind girl who visited the exhibition, said to the artist: "Thank you, now I know how a drop looks”.
The drop, hanging from the ceiling, consists of two parts made of very different materials: fabric and iron. The combination of these materials creates a body that intrigues the eye and the touch as well. The outside is a hollow iron body of cold and hard material, and the inside is a soft and warm red fabric coating. The artist has great interest in creating interesting textures with the aim to stimulate the eye - the seeing as well as the hand – the touch.
