Embroidery Frequency
Embroidery, acrylic on canvas, mirror
75x97 cm.
The only 2D tactile work of art exhibited in this exposition. Moshe Amar created a special texture on his painting, emphasizing the contours (by stiching on them) of the characters painted in the canvas.
A special bond between the 9 women painted was created by the red line stitched on the canvas. As a result of the manipulation on the painting, both sides of the work became equally important to the viewer. A mirror on the wall facilitated the view of the "back" of the painting.
As a result of the embroidery on the painting, this work of art became a tactile work of art, relevant also to blind people.
